Cost of vaccines

  1. At a state clinic the vaccine and its administration are free of charge.
  2. Major pharmacies (Clicks, Dis-Chem, Klinicare) provide the state vaccine free — you pay only for administration.
  3. At a private clinic you pay for the state vaccine and administration. This can be charged to medical aid savings — approximately R6,000 in total.
  4. Where a script is required, you pay for the vaccine (via medical aid savings or privately) plus administration costs.

Baby checks & routine child check-ups

Performed at regular intervals to ensure your baby is growing and developing normally, with no underlying health concerns. Book your 2-week and 6-week appointments when you arrive home from hospital.

  • Weight, length, and head circumference measured
  • Full physical examination of all systems
  • Vaccinations, feeding, nutrition and safe sleeping discussed
  • Developmental milestones reviewed and explained
  • Open question time for any parental concerns

Child health check-ups

18 mths · 2 yrs · then annually until school age

Regular check-ups to monitor your child's growth, general health, and wellbeing throughout their early years.

  • General physical examination
  • Weight and height tracked against growth charts
  • Developmental milestones assessed — speech, language, physical and emotional development
